The Tenth Doctor - David Tennant
Screen-used stunt prop from Doctor Who Series Four and Specials.
Previous stunt sonic screwdriver props utilized by both Christopher Eccelston and David Tennant throughout Series One-Four of Doctor Who had been based on the look of original Series One Aztec hero props and were moulded and finished by Mark Cordory.
By the time the 4th Series rolled around the hero props had undergone so many modifications that in order to keep continuity, new moulds closer to the current look of the sonics had to be utilized for constructing the stunt props.
In an interesting turn of life imitating art, moulds taken of a Character Options toy prototype of the Ninth Doctor's sonic screwdriver were used as the basis for all of the Doctor's stunt props needed throughout Series Four and the Specials. The detailing of the paint crackle on these stunt props was actually part of the mould and screen-used examples of these props are a perfect match for the crackle detailing on the original toy prototypes.
It is unknown how many sonic screwdriver stunt props of this build were made for filming and only this example and another partial example left over from a pyrotechnics stunt in Series Five, Episode 1 "The Eleventh Hour" are currently known to exist.
