The Second Doctor - Patrick Troughton
Archival replica made by Little Shop Props.
After the concept of this device had evolved from just being a screwdriver to being a “sonic screwdriver” whilst on location, the second appearance of the device saw the whistle replaced with a new prop that was more fitting of such a name, in its first actually scripted appearance.
This prop was fairly simple in construction, as it was just a metal tube with a clip that was fitted to a handle so that The Doctor could wield it like a cutting torch.
This remains to this day one of the most mysterious sonic screwdriver props as little is known about its history or appearance. In the story the prop is used to carve out a tunnel by The Doctor and his friends whilst they attempt to foil the plans of the fiendish Dominators and their robot servants the Quarks.
The original physical prop is not known to still exist.
